Wood Sanding/Staining

Eighteenth Century White Oak wood strip floor at Mansfield College, Oxford.  This floor had a carpet and underlay stuck to the original oak floor.  The underlay had to be sanded off using a 36 grade heavy duty drum sander prior to going through the different grades of sandpapers until the oak floor was smooth.  I then filled the whole area using a clear resin filler with the 80Grade Sawdust from the bagged sander to get the exact colour filler as the timber.  This was sanded off to a fine finish and restored to the original oak before applying 3 coats of dark oak stain to match oak panelling on surrounding walls finishing with 3 coats of a water-based seal in a silk matt finish.
